Crude Studios is the home of emerging writer and filmmaker Ciaran Crudden.
A highly visual storyteller, Ciaran’s distinctive perspective is a unique blend formed from over a decade’s experience in the UK design industry, uniquely complimented by foundations firmly rooted in the rolling Irish countryside of South Fermanagh.
Ciaran’s film work has screened at some of the top festivals in the UK and Ireland, including the BAFTA and Academy accredited Leeds International Film Festival.
In 2019, Ciaran won his first external commission through the Clones Film Festival script-writing competition, with the eventual film going on to pick up the prestigious Audience Award for Best Short Film. He followed up this success with another win in early 2020, receiving production funding from Screen Northern Ireland on behalf of the National Lottery and the BFI Network for his new script ‘The Lost Pig’.
Ciaran’s writing focuses on the wonderful yet often forgotten characters of the everyday. The sometimes weather-beaten, life-trodden characters who refuse to give up - these are the people who form the backbone of his stories. Through a passion for collaborative storytelling, Crude Studios aims to create bold and provocative new work across the mediums of narrative, documentary and branded content.
