The Butter Border

With Brexit looming like an ominous shadow on the future of the Irish border, I feel now is the time to talk about just what the border means and represents to the communities who have been shaped by its very presence. Today, it's a mere change in tarmac surface - but that wasn't the case just 30 years ago. This story is inspired by the people whose daily lives were affected by the barriers, checkpoints and customs stops that were dotted along the border for more than 70 years.
